Simon Said Her Audition Was Like A ‘Punch In The Face’, But It Was He Who Pressed The Golden Buzzer For This Girl

Chicago rock-soul-R&B artist Liv Warfield earned Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer on ‘America’s Got Talent’ with an original performance.

Having collaborated with legends like Prince and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Warfield still seeks that breakthrough moment to catapult her career to new heights. She hopes her appearance on Season 19 of America’s Got Talent will be that pivotal moment. According to NBC Insider, Simon Cowell awarded Liv Warfield the Golden Buzzer for her jaw-dropping performance.

“I’ve performed on many stages, and I’m just grateful to be here, doing what I love and sharing my music,” Liv shared with judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara before her electrifying AGT performance. She added, “The music industry is tough and ever-changing. I’ve persevered because I believe I have a story to tell. I want to inspire others by showing that I haven’t given up, and I won’t.”

The Chicago-based rock/soul/R&B singer showcased her tenacity when she and her band delivered an explosive, unrestrained rendition of her original song “Stare.”

Following a standing ovation, Simon remarked, “I have a problem. That wasn’t long enough. Seriously, that lyric, ‘wrecking ball,’ resonated with me. Your energy, the band, all those years of hard work – it felt like a powerful punch in the best way possible. I can’t just give you a yes. I need to give you one of these.” He then pressed the Golden Buzzer, propelling Liv and her band straight to the Live Shows, leaving no room for the other judges to comment.

Simon then rushed to the stage to embrace Liv, who expressed, “I’m overwhelmed. Thank you. We’re so grateful. We live for the music.” Simon added, “Great things are going to happen after this. It was the least I could do. You just made our show fantastic.”
